Presidents Welcome - 2011/12

Our 101st Carnival is 14 days of planned events of a high calibre and we hope that our community take time to enjoy them. One of the highlights of past Carnivals has been the spectacular Firework Display on New Year’s Eve. This year will follow the tradition. The Bay is fortunate to have the reputation of being a safe, friendly, family orientated venue to herald in January 1st and the number of revellers that make their way down to the Bay each year reflect this. The role of the Carnival in our community is to provide good service, entertainment and amenities for our patrons and their families during the two weeks from Boxing Day. To do this we require many volunteers, for some this will be their first carnival, others it will their 40 something. No matter their age or experience, we will find a job for them all. This our way of giving back to our community. One of the recent successes of the Carnival has been the Talent Quest, and may I remind the potential entertainers of you out there, that entries need to be in early as sections have limited spaces . The Association is indebted to our many sponsors, not only for their fiscal support, but for their loyalty, time and commitment to the Carnival and the role of the Association. Our appreciation is extended to her worship the Mayor, Janie Annear and the Timaru District Council for their close association and rapport. . Finally I would like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas, a Prosperous New Year on behalf of the Caroline Bay Association members and hope we will see you and your families having a great and enjoyable time at the Associations Carnival.   David A Woolstencroft President
